VIOLA adunca. A charming native violet. Our selection was taken from the northern coast. It forms compact mats from a branched rhizome. The 1" to 1½" stalked leaves are nearly round, shiny and dark green. In spring and summer it bears many 3/4" blossoms, violet with white centers, just above the foliage. Sun or light shade, most non-alkaline soils, regular watering. Hardy to 10oF. or less.
