BRAVOA geminiflora. Mexico. Closely related to and resembling the tuberose (Polianthes), this is an easily grown, tuberous perennial. It quickly forms dense, many-stemmed clumps. The new shoots appear in early spring, each with several narrow bright green, arching 1' to 1½' leaves. In mid to late summer the blooming stems appear, rising 2' or more with many pairs of orange-red tubular blossoms. Sun or light shade, rich, reasonably well drained soil, moderate watering. Winter dormant and evidently safe with air temperatures of 20oF or less.
