CHAENORRHINUM
glareosum. Dwarf snapdragon. Spain. A small perennial of delicate appearance,
making a mound 6-12 tall. It has closely branched, slender stems, set
with nearly round, dark green leaves, 1/4-1/2 long. It blooms in spring
and fall, or almost continuously in our coastal climate. Small violet flowers
marked with white, much resembling little snapdragons, are clustered above the
leaves. It is a nice addition to the rock garden, or for banks and walls. Sun,
well drained soils, moderate watering. Probably hardy to 10oF
or less.
