CORONILLA valentina ssp. glauca ‘Variegata’. Mediterranean region. A small pea-shrub, quite unlike others I have grown. It is around 2’ high, spreading to 3-4’. The stems are slender, smooth and blue-green in color. The leaves are divided into 5-7 small leaflets, also blue-green but margined with creamy yellow. In late spring and summer it carries many umbrella-shaped clusters of fragrant, ½" blossoms, golden yellow in color. This is an unusual candidate for borders, banks and meadows, as well as for individual display. It thrives in sun and any reasonably well drained soil, with moderate watering. Hardy to 15oF or less.
