DICHROA febrifuga. Southern China and Nepal. An evergreen shrub allied to and resembling Hydrangea. It is bushy in habit and grows 4-6 tall. The stems are lined with dark green, rather deeply veined leaves, 4-8" long. In late summer and fall, it carries dense clusters of small blue flowers at the shoot tips. These are followed by metallic blue berries. A pleasant shrub for the same spots where one might plant a hydrangeashady nooks and foundations. It will probably thrive in full sun near the coast, but this is not well tested. Reasonably well drained soil, regular watering. Probably hardy to 10oF or less.
