HALIMIUM. Mediterranean, West Asia. A group of shrubs closely related and similar to Cistus. They are of smallish size (usually under 4 high), have greyish green, hairy leaves and produce clusters of white to yellow, rose-like blossoms, usually in spring. Sun, well drained soil, little to no supplemental watering when established. Hardy to 10oF or less.
lasianthum. A spreading shrub, in this selection about 2 high and at least 4 broad. It has slender, whitish stems lined with small grey green leaves. In spring it is showered with 2" blossoms, in which each bright yellow petal is marked with a conspicuous purple-brown spot.
