ILYSANTHES floribunda. A ground hugging mat in the snapdragon family, promising for rock gardens, walls and small scale ground cover. It has slender stems more or less hidden by the tiny bright green leaves. In summer and fall the plant is dotted with irregular purple flowers, their form suggesting a lobelia more than a snapdragon. It seems to thrive in either sun or light shade, with well drained soil and moderate watering. Its hardiness still needs further testing; assume 20-25oF.
