SOLLYA fusiformis (S. heterophylla). Australian bluebell creeper. Western Australia. This is a low shrub if free-standing, a vine of 6' or more if given support. It has slender stems set with narrow, glossy 2" leaves and displays many clusters of little bell shaped blossoms in summer and fall. An unnamed selection, received from the U.C. Santa Cruz Arboretum, has pure white flowers. Still more recent is Bode's Choice’, a blue flowered clone easily distinguished by its tightly mounding habit and congested foliage. Sun or part shade, reasonably well drained soil, moderate to occasional watering when established. Hardy to 15-20oF.
