ALYOGYNE huegelii (Hibiscus huegelii) ‘Mood Indigo’. Blue hibiscus. West and South Australia. There are now several commercial selections of the blue hibiscus circulating in California. All are openly branched shrubs, varying from 4' to 8' in height, loosely clad with fuzzy, deeply lobed leaves. Lavender-blue to violet 4" blossoms with a silky sheen decorate the plants nearly year-round. ‘Mood Indigo’ is sturdier and more erect in branching habit than most, and further distinguished by flowers of deepest violet. Sun, well drained soil, moderate to little watering when established. Hardy to around 20oF.
