NEMESIA denticulata. South Africa. The nemesias are bushy annuals and perennials, related to the snapdragons and resembling them in bloom. This one grows about 18" high, with upright habit and closely branched stems. The small, broad leaves are smooth in surface, bright green in color. Elevated above them during the warmer months are loose clusters of bright to light pink, two-lipped blossoms with lighter markings and short spurs, like the snapdragons. It is a charming plant for borders, banks and even large rock gardens. It thrives in sun, with well drained soil and moderate watering. New plants are easily brought along by cuttings and seeds in case of winter losses. It is hardy to around 20oF.
