PAULLINIA sp. (Possibly P. thalictrifolia ). Southern Mexico? A beautiful vine of the soapberry family, ideal for odd corners and shady nooks where most contenders would be too rampant. It has slender, bright green stems and rather intricately divided, shiny leaves, 6" or more long and broad. The flowers are small, greenish white and fairly inconspicuous. The only other vine which comes to mind for similar effect is the climbing fern, Lygodium. Light to medium shade, reasonably well drained soil, moderate to regular watering. Evidently hardy to around 20oF, though the foliage is burned at 25o.
