CATANANCHE caerulea. Cupids dart. A tightly clumping, perennial daisy, growing 1-2' high. It has narrow grey green basal leaves up to 1' long, making attractive mounds. Slender flower stems rise above the foliage in summer, swaying in the breeze. At their tips are tight heads of chaffy bracts, opening gradually into 2 daisies with notched rays. The typical color is lavender blue. Bicolor is a strain with white flowers, shaded blue towards the centers. Sun, well drained soil, moderate watering. Hardy to 0oF or less.
