HALIMIUM. Mediterranean, West Asia. A group of shrubs closely related and similar to Cistus. They are of smallish size (usually under 4’ high), have greyish green, hairy leaves and produce clusters of white to yellow, rose-like blossoms, usually in spring. Sun, well drained soil, little to no supplemental watering when established. Hardy to 10oF or less.

lasianthum. A spreading shrub, in this selection about 2’ high and at least 4’ broad. It has slender, whitish stems lined with small grey green leaves. In spring it is showered with 2" blossoms, in which each bright yellow petal is marked with a conspicuous purple-brown spot.
