KOELERIA glauca. Central Europe to Siberia. An ornamental bunchgrass making tight hummocks, about 6" tall when not in bloom. Both the stems and the short, narrow leaves are colored bright bluish green. In spring it erupts with many slender 1-2 flower stalks bearing long, open clusters of tiny spikelets. A beautiful grass for borders and open banks. Sun, reasonably well drained soil, moderate watering. Hardy to 10oF or less.
