PRUNELLA. Widely distributed, temperate regions. Perennials of the mint family, closely related to and somewhat resembling Ajuga. They form compact mats from which short, branched, leafy flowering shoots arise in summer. Small, helmeted blossoms are arranged along these in dense, short spikes. They range in color from purple or rose to white. Sun or light shade, most soils, regular watering. Hardy to below 0oF.

grandiflora. This species forms lush carpets with oval, dark green leaves and relatively large (about 1") blossoms in branched, crowded spikes. We offer pink, magenta, violet and white flowered reselections from the ‘Pagoda’ seed strain.

laciniata. A hairier plant than the last, especially along the stems and undersides of the leaves. It is also distinguished by the division of the leaves into several narrow lobes. The flowering stems are up to 1’ high, carrying dense, bracted clusters of 1" flowers at their tips. Flower color is typically off-white; in our current offering it is reddish purple.
