SENECIO. Worldwide. This is a huge and variable group of daisies ranging from small annuals to trees and enormous vines. We offer two samples of this diversity, one shrub and one vine. Culture and hardiness vary.
confusus 'Sao Paulo' A larger flowered form of theMexican flame vine. A vine of moderate growth, eventually around 10' tall. The leaves in this selection are about 2" long, conspicuously toothed and tinged with purple. It is decorated much of the year by clusters of 1" flower heads, colored brilliant orange with yellow centers. Sun or part shade, well drained soil, moderate watering. Hardy to around 20o, resprouting after heavy damage to the tops.
greyi (Brachyglottis greyi). A tidy, roundish shrub of around 4'. Closely set around the stems are 3" narrowly oval leaves, greyish green with a white margin above and nearly white beneath. Older plants are decorated in summer by clusters of 1" yellow flower heads. Sun, well drained soil, moderate to little watering when established. Hardy to around 15oF.
