SINOBAMBUSA tootsik forma albostriata (‘Variegata’). China. A thicketing bamboo (officially, “running”, but this does not convey the density of the colonies). The culms are cylindrical and up to 1½” in diameter, rising 15-30'. They are well branched above, with thick sprays of rather stiff, narrow leaves. These are 3-5" long, shiny above, dark in background with cream-yellow stripes. It is useful as a tall screen or hedge, and a beautiful specimen in large tubs. Sun or light shade, most soils, regular watering. Hardy to 10-15^oF.
