THYSANOTUS. Fringe lily. Delicately textured Australian perennials of the lily family. They form dense basal clumps, with soft, grassy leaves. They carry small, pink to lavender blossoms, each with three conspicuously fringed petals, in lengthy succession. T. multiflorus is primarily spring blooming and has unbranched stems. T. tuberosus has branched stems and is nearly everblooming for us. Sun or light shade, well drained soil, moderate watering. Hardy to 20oF or less.
