MONTANOA grandiflora. Daisy tree. Central America. An erect shrub, growing 10-15' tall in this selection. It produces thick, cane like stems from the base. These are branched above and lined by pairs of large, lobed, hairy leaves. In fall and winter the plant is decorated by large sprays of white “daisies” with yellow centers. These have a powerful fragrance similar to chocolate. Sun, well drained soil, moderate watering. Hardy to around 20o, resprouting after heavy damage to the tops.
