Patersonias are evergreen Australian iris allies with densely clustered shoots from a short, branched rhizome. The light green, narrow 12-16 inch leaves are held in close fans from a narrow base. The flower stems arise in summer carrying beautiful lavender blue, three petaled blossoms. Each lasts only one day, but several more appear in succession from the same stem. Sun, well drained soil, moderate watering.
