This clumping bamboo from open slopes in semi-arid central Chile is a great groundcover in large areas. Densely held, short, sharp tipped grey-green leaves on long arching culms enable this bamboo to climb or to clamber over the ground, creating a wide, loose billowy mound. Sun or light shade, moderate to occasional watering, hardy to 10 degrees F. or less.
