This is a sturdy clumping bamboo with arching, dark green stems to 15 feet or more. The nodes are enlarged and partly circled by brushes of mostly 6-12 inch branchlets. The leaves are small and bright green in color. Chusqueas are elegant container subjects, though the size of the container needed will be substantial. Sun or light shade, reasonably well drained soil, regular watering.
