This dwarf form of euphorbia is as ornamental as the larger species, but useful in smaller spaces. Blue green leaves surround the upright stems; dense columns of limey yellow flowers tip the stems in spring and summer. New growth has a reddish flush. It will grow in sun or light shade, with moderate to little watering. Wear gloves and a long-sleeved shirt when handling them, and don't plant them where children play! The milky juice in cut leaves and stems and can irritate skin and eyes. But this same toxic juice effectively discourages gophers and deer.
