Very erect Mahonia has broad, dark green leaves with the typical spine tipped edges; spikes of showy, fragrant bright yellow flowers appear in late winter and early spring. These develop into long drooping clusters of ornamental blue berries. Part shade to shade, moderate to occasional watering. Parents are Mahonia bealei and M. lomariifolia.
