Fern-like divided leaves are blue green and form loose clumps to about 1 foot high. Flower spikes to 24-30 inches rise in summer and display long lilac pink draping "squirrel-tail" plumes. The flower show is impressive on this Japanese perennial. Best in fertile moist soils in part shade.
